Review: Vampire Academy series by Richelle Meed

So I just finally finished the Vampire Academy series! I read the first two books at the end of last year, the third one at the beginning of this year, the forth one in October and I marathoned the last two books in December.

Summary:

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

My opinion:

I'm glad I finally finished the entire series, because I already forgot most of what happened in the first three books. Overall I think this series is great for if you'd like something fun and just don't have to think to much about it. Because of that I gave the series in general 4 stars. It was fun and entertaining, but I didn't learn anything from it and I know I'm not going to think about it after I finished an other book. It doesn't stick with me.

There we so many things I didn't see coming and the developement in this series was just mindblowing! I'd never could have guessed what would happen in the last book after I finished the first one. You can never guess (if you don't count the chemistry between Rose and Dimitri) it and that's something good! I can't say which book was my favorite but if I have to choose just one I think it's going to be Spirit Bound. You know what's weird? I gave the first two books a 5 star rating on Goodreads, the third one 3 stars and the last three books 4 stars. I guess I have become more critical over the reading. It's logical since I've read so many!

But the covers of this series, omygoodness! I don't like those at all and I even don't like the new ones. The spines of the new ones are cool, but because I don't think I'm going to re-read this series I just read it on my e-reader. I know I'm not the only one who does that! Haha.
