Review: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

A Christmas Carol (Puffin Chalk) - Charles Dickens, Mark Peppe, Mary Kate McDevitt

Goodreads summary:

Ebenezer Scrooge is a mean old man with no friends or family to love him - he's just so miserable and bitter! One freezing cold Christmas Eve, Marley's Ghost pays Scrooge a visit and an eerie night-time journey begins. The Christmas spirits are here to show Scrooge the error if his nasty ways. By visiting his past, present and future, will Scrooge learn to love Christmas and the others around him?

My opinion:

I personally didn't love this one, in fact I think it was just okay. I totally understand the moral of this story and why it's such a popular classic, but it was not my cup of tea.

Most of the time I was way too distracted and wanted to do other things, so when I was reading it I was completely lost. Like I know what it was about, but it was just weird to me. The last chapter and the page before were on the other hand really good.

I'm still glad I read it, because now I finally know what the story is about, but it's not something that I really enjoyed.

There are quite a few adaptations of this novel, but as you've already guessed, I haven't seen any. So if you have a suggestion of which version I should watch: please let me know!
